Beer Lock (Bierschloss)

A wonderful prank to play when having drinks with your friends. This puzzle can be used to “lock” any conventional bottle with a pop closure.

From the first inspection of the bottle it becomes clear … nothing can be unfastened without opening the lock. All in all a rather tricky situation (especially if you’re thirsty!) But after a short shock phase, your cool head comes. However, the key does not fit into the lock from its position on the rope and it cannot be removed that easily because the rod is clearly too long. The situation becomes unbearable … by the way: even if the key is released, the game continues…
The puzzle is quick to use because it takes approximately 5 seconds to cause a problem for the unsuspecting friend and his bottle. Works on all conventional bottles with pop closures. (as illustrated below)
