Growing up on the family farm gave him deep appreciation for his natural surroundings, and can be found in his paintings of yesteryear. During high school, Charles excelled at art, and took his dream of becoming a full time artist one step further when he finished his degree at the Academy of Art in Chicago. At the age of thirty-nine, Charles is happily married, a father of six and resides in Marion, Iowa.
